Earlier this year, we delivered our first ILTA Roadshow here in our own Queen City (Charlotte, North Carolina). I spoke about new and improved functionality of SharePoint 2013, and what aspects were most relevant to legal. We began this initiative with humble expectations and a simple desire to educate IT professionals on a topic we were passionate about for legal.
As I’ve picked the brains of many CIOs and IT Directors from mid to large-sized law firms over the past few years, it was clear to me there is not only a need for SharePoint, but also a desire to gain a better understanding of how SharePoint can positively impact productivity, ultimately cutting costs – the problem was time; the lack of time to not only learn about new technology, but also decipher what’s relevant for legal.
The ILTA Roadshows was our solution to this challenge. We’ve been able to reach 19 cities and speak to over 350 legal IT professionals on the East Coast during a series of 90-minute lunch and learn sessions this year. My team and I were blown away by the attendance, engagement and overall appetite for SharePoint 2013.
